Property Description

Additional Information

Offered for sale with no onward chain is this two bedroom detached bungalow. One of the premier spots in the village, the bungalow enjoys beautiful views across adjoining countryside and being only a short amble down to Halsden nature reserve, a lovely picturesque woodland walk following the course of the river Torrindge.

Yes the bungalow would benefit from some modernisation but when done would be a stunning home in a lovely spot. Imagine drawing back your bedroom curtains to be welcomed by the rolling hills of North Devon whilst listening to the jovial morning bird song.

Dolton is a thriving village and still boasts two public houses, a butchers, village shop, bus route as well as good road links to nearby attractions. Within a fifteen minute drive you will find RHS Rosemoor, the Plough arts centre and access to the locally renowned Tarka Trail, a footpath/cycle way mainly built on the bed of a disused railway where all the gradients are gentle. It winds its way through some stunning woodland along the course of the River Torridge past Beam Weir, where Henry Williamson’s Tarka the Otter was born, from which the trail gains its name. It continues past Bideford and along the coast to Barnstaple where it splits and one leg turns inland again following the portion of the railway which is still in use the other continues on the bed of the disused railway and onto Ilfracombe. Both Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks are within an hour’s drive away. The closest coastline is only a 17 mile drive and is very popular with surfers and body borders alike.

Directions

From Torrington proceed in a southerly direction on the A386 signposted Hatherleigh/Okehampton and upon the leaving the town at the bottom of the hill turn left onto the A3124 signposted Winkleigh/Exeter. Proceed into the village taking the right hand turning into Fore Street and passing the antique shop on your left towards the Square. Continue around the s bend into West Lane where the property can be found after a short distance on your right hand side with a for sale board clearly displayed.
