Additional Information

This hidden gem could be your perfect "get away from it all" home. With everything going on in the world, an escape to the country could be exactly what the doctor ordered. This fine example of a period cottage sits proudly in the heart of the hamlet enjoying forward facing countryside views over the rolling hills. The conservation hamlet of Kingscott although being nestled away is only a short car journey into the nearby town of Great Torrington where most of your shopping needs can be met. Just up the lane from the cottage you can buy freshly laid eggs at a very reasonable price and in the next village along is the parish social club, a great place to relax, unwind and meet with the friendly locals over a drink.

In my opinion, particularly being a dog owner, a great feature of living in this area is all the lane and countryside walks on offer. Miles and miles of stunning scenery immediately greets you straight from your front door through field and wooded paths alike. If you did want to venture a little further afield the stunning coastline, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a 25 minute drive to the North, taking you to Northam Burrows and Westward Ho! The two majestic National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor can be found only a 35 - 40 minute drive away.

When you set out looking for a period home you tend to have a fixed idea of the features that you would hope to find. East View cottage certainly doesn?t fail in this department either. There is a log burning stove in the living room for those cosy winter nights in, exposed beams and stone work really add to the charm of the cottage as well as the wooden floor boards and an oil fired Rayburn. Storage can also be tricky to find in a home but not here, there are numerous cupboards and wardrobes on both floors to add further convenience. The sun rises at the front and sets to the rear of the cottage - sun streaming in at both ends of the day.

The enclosed lawned garden to the rear is a fantastic space to unwind and enjoy the Devon air and provides a safe space for children and pets alike to play. For those of you that are green fingered there is a raised vegetable patch and greenhouse as well as sheds and wood stores. All in all I think this is one not to be missed and really needs to be viewed sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Directions

From Torrington proceed along New Road and at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the B3227 signposted South Molton. Continue on this road to High Bullen taking the right hand turning signposted St Giles in the Wood. Continue through the village of St Giles, up the hill the other side and upon reaching a cross roads, turn left towards Kingscott. At the fork in the road, take the left hand turning and continue past several bungalows and take the next right. The cottage is found on your right hand side after 250 yards.
